That's good, actually. It means I'm not going crazy. At least not more than I already knew. Yeah, now you and I are totally on the same page, and hopefully we can make the page you're looking at more functional.

If possible I'd like to get some idea how these are generated...

Obviously hitters vs. pitchers are going to go primarily on any history they have against eachother, then on LHP/RHP splits (I would assume anyway). But how are the pitchers done? Is is a formula, like NHSportsfans from last year (including recent starts as well as long-term success vs. teams/batters), or is it strictly a gut call by somebody on the Yahoo! staff?

At this point I'm leery trusting these things, just because I figure I'm at a point in my baseball knowledge that I can put together a reasonable rating on my own (plus, no offense, but three-quarters of the content on Yahoo! is put together for people well below Cafe-level, which I'm sure you know). I'd be a lot more trusting if I knew where these ratings came from.

I understand if this is proprietary knowledge Genie... just curious. :-D

Why can't I see yesterday's matchup ratings so I can see if you're lying?

I benched A-Rod, Hanley, and Wright because they were only 3 stars and I had 4 star options on the bench. Stoopid Yahoo.

/typical Yahoo! rant sarcasm

some of the data seems a bit stretched to me.

i.e. the dominant changeup one, etc..
