Word right now is right shoulder tendinitis...

Obviously, it could be right shoulder tendinitis... but what closer would miss coming in for a save on opening day at a new stadium because he had some shoulder stiffness? I'm just guessing, but it must have been pretty severe pain or stiffness for Cordero to let Rauch go in his spot...

I am a little more optomistic. It was very cold tonight at the stadium. Why chance your starting closer on opening night just because it is a new stadium. I own him in my league so I have to be optomistic. They already put Dukes on the DL so my way of thinking is if it was major they would hurry and do the same with Cordero and make sure he is better for the season ahead. Cordero has been one of the best closers in all of baseball the last few years so he will be fine. May stay out a few games but will retain his job if he has to miss a few games to be safe I think.

Mar 30 RHP Chad Cordero will be unavailable to pitch for at least two or three more days after developing right shoulder tendinitis prior to Sunday night's opener against the Braves. Cordero said he felt something "pop" in his shoulder as he was playing catch. He received a cortisone shot and thus will have to miss at least a few days. Scouts who watched Cordero pitch this spring noted his fastball was unusually low, topping out around 87 mph. Cordero insisted his arm felt fine until he started playing catch before Sunday's game, but perhaps the injury explains his decreased velocity.
