From a radio interview with Jim Bowden after last night's game:

Cordero felt pain/stiffness in his shoulder in pre-game warm-ups and received a cortisone injection. He was unavailable from the start for last night's game but they home to have him back within a few days.

The dreaded "day-to-day" I think, but the fact that he got an injection is worrisome.

worrisome for the guys that have cordero. first NEW closer of the year ? ...perhaps. im sprang on him already, so i wouldn't be opposed to him taking over.

I jumped on both Rauch and Shoppach within minutes of hearing of the injuries to both Rauch yesterday and Vmart today. I feel bad rooting for injuries, but hey, cold and heartless wins fantasy leagues :)

The Washington Post reports that Cordero will not be available "until Wednesday -- at the earliest."

"Right now, we're not even considering the DL -- yet," said Manager Manny Acta.

Well, that inspires a lot of confidence.

This hurts me, and I own Rauch, but I was counting on him to rack up Holds, not Saves and Wins! :-t

Holds pitchers are a dime a dozen. You'll be able to find someone else. Closers are a different story though...

NIce site...sounds rather pessimistic. I really didn't want to jump on the Rauch train, but have Cordero as a closer :-o
