It's good that your rankings aren't even close. Ignore the default. The change increases the value of guys who hit near the top of the order in productive lineups who may not necessarily hit for a lot of power. Guys like Johnny Damon, under a 4X4 format, really only help in the SB category. In a 5X5 format, he gives you two categories when you add in runs. On the pitching side, the addition of strikeouts obviously makes you turn and focus more on guys who produce nice totals in that category, along with potential for good win, WHIP, and ERA numbers.
