Impatience.

And don't fall in love.

I tend to wait and see if someone will keep hitting for a few more days before grabbing him off the wire and end up watching too many players go elsewhere and shine. I need to be more impatient or impulsive and grab all the young dudes.
I also have to stop loving on certain players cause I find myself cloggin' up my line up with back-ups I like too much to cut for the chance at a break out player, ala Pence, Bruan last season.

I did this last year as well. It didn't make me miss Braun or Pence or anyone amazing though.
Last year I had the curse of Esteban German/Jason Botts. They would so rake if they got starting jobs :-P !+) :-/

"Make enough small gambles, and one of them will pay off big."

I've got several gambles on my team this year. Players with sketchy splits. Players with little to no history on them. Players coming off good years, players coming off bad years.

In addition to that, I'm focusing on "slow and steady" this year, building as evenly as possible towards my roto-leagues max innings and max games played at each position. (Which means I'm going to need to find room for a backup catcher pretty damn quick.)

No matter what, I WILL have a player/ Pitcher get injured (or both)...its inevitable. Lets make sure to get someone good to fill in when (not if) that player goes down.

If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It

Both in terms of my team and my managing philosophy...it seems to work for me.
