He'll go around the same time in 09 which is 3rd, 4th round. I'd probably miss out on him again.

I agree. I'll probably never own Morneau...

I find it interesting that most of the argument in this thread centered around whether Morneau would hit .270 with 30 HRs, and 100 RBIs. Kind of odd that he ended up at .300 (exceeding expectations), 23 HRs (below expectations), and 130 RBIs (far exceeding expectations).

I like him in the late 3rd, early 4th round again next year, which is about where I had him ranked this year.

ha i fully agree. maybe he made some kind of adjustment to stop trying to jack every ball out of the ballpark?

i agree, he'll go toward the end of the 3rd, beginning of the 4th, and again, i wont take him.

There's a guy in my league who loves him - drafts or keeps him every year - so I certainly won't own him.

There is one or two in every league.

He was the first round pick in my one keeper (keep 5) in 2005 when he absolutely bombed. Then he has been kept by the same owner who drafted him the following year.

I drafted him in 06 when he was awesome, kept him in 07 and then let him go in 08. I'm sure the owner will keep him again.

I do think that he will have a huge spike or two in the next 5 or 6 years.

I'd love to take Lince and Morneau back to back in the 4th and 5th rounds. ;-D

It's funny, some of us think of Morneau who has averaged 30 HR's, 123 RBI's, 93 Runs and a .297 Ave in the last 3 years as a 4th to 5th round guy..To me those are 2nd to 3rd round numbers..Morneau is only 27 years old at the prime of his career and will get his usual 31 HR's, 130 RBI, 95 Runs and close to the .300 Ave again and I'll be happy having him as my 3rd round keeper instead of taking a guy like Teixiera who puts out the exact same stats (31HR, 112 RBI, 95 Runs, .297 Ave over a 3 year span) and drafting him late 1st, early 2nd rd. Teixeira and Morneau are the same player..Look at the Averages of both players, they are identical with Teix getting a few less RBI

Well, that's gonna change with Teixeira on the NYY...
