Conor Jackson or James Loney

Postby 3rice » Fri Mar 28, 2008 11:01 pm

Drafted Loney has done well this spring and is hitting I believe 3rd in a decent lineup after furcal.

Jackson has had a pretty intimidating spring and has garnered alot of my waiver wire attention. My starter at 1b is Fielder and my Dh is Ankiel.

Though I dont think i need Conor, I just dont want to miss out on the next big name first baseman. Should i make a drop/add and get the guy on my team?

It might be a push for you either way. I have Loney projected to have a slight edge, .296/16/86 (though I think these numbers are very conservative) and Jackson at .290/14/68. I think you should stand pat right now and see how each starts the season. My gut tells me that Loney will give you more.

You might get more responses to this in the draft/trade/keeper/waiver forum. Good luck this season!

I am in the same boat as yourself....I am going Loney but keeping my eye on Jackson. I have Loney, and Butler in both of my leagues so if something goes south I definately have him as a backup plan. The way I see things panning out in the end is Loney giving you a better BA but Jackson might give you 5 more HR's. Other than those two stats I see a clone of each other.
