Despite his injury, Alvarez seems to be the consensus #1 college hitter coming through the draft this year.

Where would he rank in a prospect list right now? Obviously behind the top guys, but in a draft of the top 50-60 minor leaguers, would he be in the top half of that pool? Not in the pool at all?

Top draft picks from last year (Wieters, Price, Porcello, etc.) are ranked in most everyone's top 15...is Alvarez that kind of player?

Alvarez is definitely that type of player if he shows us something after coming back from the broken bone. I imagine he would rank somewhere along the lines of 12-15 if he were put in a minor league ranking right now and completely healthy.

You can argue that Alvarez is worth consideration for the top ten so top 15 is pretty safe.

I agree. Easily top 15. I also wouldn't expect to see a lot this year. Wrist injuries can take some time to come back from and to rebuild the strength in that wrist. I expect him to be a top 3 player in the draft depending whether their will be a SP or two that can open some eyes.

There is a good chance he will be the #1 pick in the upcoming amateurs draft unless he is serious about wanting 10 million. If that is true, then I imagine the Rays pass on him and look elsewhere.

He probably should be the #1 guy in baseball the best players isn't always picked #1. As a Royals fan I would love to see him come to us. Not that we need another 3B with Moustakas and Gordon but his bat is special.
