Is he worth picking up as a starting 1st baseman now that he's with Montreal?

My current 1B is Dunn.

Dude, I would so much rather have Johnson than Dunn, at least right now. Dunn still has a ton of upside, but Johnson is doing it right now. If he stays healthy I would project .310/35/110 w/.430 OBP.....The guy is pretty good!

Wow, with those kind of projected numbers Johnson would easily be in my top 5 first baseman.

He's a good hitter, but i don't think he's going to hit 35 homeruns or drive in 110 runs this year.

I think 20-25 hr's and 80-90 rbi's would be a good season for him...

I'd hang on to both if you have the roster room just to see if Dunn's average starts to improve.

johnson is not a 35 HR guy IMO. he has sweet swing that was built for that porch in yankee stadium. now that he is out of there his power upside is a little lower, but i still think he will hit 25 HR this year. he is not worth a starting 1B slot this year, but i have him as my utility guy in a keeper league and im pretty comfortable with that. he's got a shot at 100 RBI if he stays healthy and vidro and cabrera get on base in front of him all year.

I think ~.290, 25 HR, 100 RBI is about right....he should be a servicable 1B or UT ..... :-)

I like the predictions that DieHardCubbie posted. His numbers should go up this year because some of the Montreal home games are in Puerto Rico which is a very very very friendly hitters ballpark.
