Bonds - whir

I took a last round flyer on Bonds in a couple of my drafts, just in case someone picks him up as a DH.
What does anyone think the chances are of this actually happening? He may not even be in court this year, but I just get the feeling nobody is going to want that circus around their team.
Anybody have any insights or theories?

I think if anyone was going to do it they would have already.

If he is limited to DH only teams then his options are very limited. Most of the teams that are expected to contend in the AL already have a DH. Seattle seems like the best fit.

He's really not worth stashing, he could find a team during summer and that looks like the best case scenario.

I agree that he would be a good fit for Seattle. I'd take Bonds over Vidro any day. If the Mariners want to make some noise, Bonds would be the perfect fit, although I think SEA management said they had no interest in Bonds.

I also agree with Seattle, as Vidro is no DH, but i couldn't really see them going for Bonds unless things start off badly. The Angels have plenty troubles, so the M's should not have too much difficulty early on.

I dont think this would be too good a pick unless your saving him for the summer. Even then I dont think its worth it, not because of the steroid/ court risk, but because of his value, and the possibility a team doesn't pick him up. You could easily drop Bonds and pick him up again later on in the season if you want to.

Agreed. I drafted him WAY late, and ended up dropping him this morning to shore up some RP. I'd bet a dollar he'll be there any time I look for him this season. Best case scenario he's no better than the Big Hurt . . .
