potential '04 lineup:

Tike Redman - a young Lofton
Jack Wilson - the next great SS
Jason Kendall - say bye bye before the trading deadline
Craig Wilson - the next big thing
Jason Bay - the next Giles?
Randall Simon - SAUSAGEGATE '04?
Chris Stynes - why did we trade Ramirez
Freddy Sanchez - oh yea!

(plug in Mondesi when you can)

Wells - will be better than last year
Benson - comeback player of the year
Fogg - needs more production out of Josh
Perez - see if he was worth it
Vogelsong - strong

RP
Urbina - ? - please SIGN HIM!!!
Mesa - oh my@!!@
Acevedo - uh....okay

bullpen - I don't even want to talk about it

2004 season - God help us!!!! :~( !+) :-t :-P

i think we will be good in a couple years, but as for next year, its not looking HORENDOUS but its not great. Our sPs are OK, then our bullpen is sad. Bay, Redman, Wilsons...they look to be good someday. Of course kendall is great but hell probably be shipped off, but we may get a good deal. simon was good and i look forward to seeing him again. stynes isnt great but isnt BAD. you forgot singleton-who shouldnt be bad, and ward-who again shouldnt be too bad. if they sign mondesi they dont have a bad field or batters. the thing im really worried about is the bullpen like you said :-°

What about rick reed? He will be their 5th starter. I think Freddy Sanchez is gonna have a good year at 2nd base, and will probably move up in the batting order.

what it's looking like:
CF Redman
SS Wilson
C Kendall
RF Mondesi
1B Simon
3B Stynes
LF Mackowiak (with Bay hurt)
2B Hill (platoon when sanchez is healthy)

what I'd like to see:
craig wilson as our full-time 1B. mackowiak as our full-time 3B with stynes backing up 1B/3B and simon not on the team. kendall and his salary not on the team. jj davis getting some PT and producing. bay healthy :-[

and it looks like reed's health and ryan vogelsong's spring success is gonna make vogelsong the #5 starter.
