Kelvim Escobar revealed Wednesday that he has a tear in his right shoulder that could require season-ending surgery. Escobar ceased throwing after experiencing discomfort in his shoulder Sunday. "I'm concerned, I don't know what's going to happen, I don't even know if I'll be able to pitch again," Escobar said. "I'm still young. I'll be 32 in two weeks, but retirement is getting into my head, because it's hard to rehab. I want to be out there playing, and I've done everything I can do to be healthy." According to the Los Angeles Times, Escobar plans to see if two weeks off improve his shoulder before likely seeing a specialist to determine whether surgery is necessary. Source: Los Angeles Times
Ugh, I have him on one of my cafe teams and I was really banking on him to come back in May and be a reliable guy because my staff is pretty thin there. I got him in the 14th so I didn't really overpay to get him but that news hurts.
This really hurts! I extremely overpaid for him in a 15x15 league that has GIDPs as a catagory. The end of the 1st round in a 5 keeper league which is really the 6th round. I was targeting Carmona, but he got snatched 2 picks earlier and I guess because I was picking at the turn I got rattled. I cussed myself after the pick before I knew he was injured. This was over a month ago, but it still blows my mind that I had no idea he was hurt. I thought I had a very good knowledge of the injuries carrying into the season, but some how he slipped through the cracks.
Hate to see that. He's actually a really nice guy. Tossed me a ball during BP and even signed it for me after BP was over.
Hopefully it isn't something that shelves him for the year.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
