Madison wrote:Yes, there is quite a bit of talk involving Soriano possibly being traded down here. It's all talk right now (read: rumors) but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Soriano is very nice at his current price and he has 2 more arbitration years left so he's good trade bait at this point and time.

If my Rangers trade him, they better get some solid pitching in return dag nabbit! }:-)

:-D

Don't the Rangers want John Lester? See the signature. We could get him, and use Reese when Lowe pitches. That'd be a coup!
I'm back. Sorta.

Do not boo Johnny.

I would imagine the Dodgers must be interested. Thurston hasn't proved he can hit in the majors and Cora shouldn't be starting on any team...anywhere....

Since they had the worst hitting SS/2B combination last year, they could use him bad...Izturis is amazing defensively and has good speed (plus he's fun to watch...in the field at least) at SS, but if they got Soriano...they'd be primed to make a run at the playoffs this year. They definitely have the pitching prospects to give if they really wanted to...but they're pretty reluctant to trade their top prospects...

just my thoughts on it...

I have been reading this rumor all week, the Soriano 'on the block' rumor ..

LA has a need and Pitching to ship to Texas, it could very easily happen. Houston also has extra pitchers and could use another bat at SS, but that scenario is less likely than LA.

All I can say is that I hope it's not the Mets. God. I hope it's not the Mets.

Let's go Dodgers! Get Soriano to hit in front of Green.

Yeah, that's the last thing the Mets need...another guy who can't play a lick of defense. :-D

I wonder what good market value would be for a Soriano pitching wise. Who would you wanna trade with? Chicago for a Clement or Zambrano? I doubt they'd make that move in Chi-town, but I think it might be a fair offer.

I think Zambrano would be fair. Maybe toss in a minor leaguer too, but Zambrano would work.

Just the obvious targets so far. Cubs/Dodgers/Houston right now. It would have to be a team with extra pitching and there aren't many teams out there with too much pitching. I heard a far fetched Oakland rumor, but I seriously doubt that it would happen.

Why would you not want Soriano on the METS? He would be a great addition to the team.

Because I think that Reyes will be very good and will be much, much cheaper. I think that Soriano will get an enormous raise through arbitration next year and will not be worth his money. Because I think that adding Soriano wouldn't make us a winning team. We've got to build from the ground up.

Because I don't like his cockiness or the way that he used to be a Yankee.

Hmmmm..

Kim, Arroyo, and a prospect?

That would stick it to George, the Sox getting the 2B they need in Soriano.
