Hey Everyone!

I was curious if I could get some of your input. I currently have Troy Tulowitski as my Shortstop, so I would like to draft someone, who has a HUGE upside, no matter how long I have to wait. Any ideas??

So I am looking for the sing BEST SS prospect for 2009! Any help would be great!

I wouldn't say there is a sure-fire guy, but two that come to mind are Brignac(TB) and Wood(LAA) - if Wood gets SS eligibility back. Moustakas(KC) and Andrus(TEX) are still a ways away.

Do you think they are still away for 2009?

And what do you think about Jed Lowrie?

Lowrie is intriguing...blocked by Lugo, but I guess it depends what your opinion of Lugo is. Personally, I think he will rebound this year so playing time may be an issue. I see the issue with Lugo/Lowrie in '09 being similar to the current situation they have in CF with Crisp/Ellsbury, so it becomes an issue of if Lowrie will see enough playing time in 2009.

I think Brignac is probably your best bet for a full-time starting gig next year.

It seems like the SS position is going to be pretty weak with youth for the next couple of years.

Carlos Triunfel, but who knows if he will stay at short it seems not many do these days, from what i see he will move to 3rd

Julio Lugo isn't blocking anybody. :-D

Moustakas is definitely your best bet but it's still doubtful that SS is his long term home. Andrus is a pretty safe pick because he's definitely at SS long term and will be hitting in Arlington.

I second Triunfel, as he's drawn comparisons to Tejada with more power potential, but there is a chance he scoots over...

I think Moustakas is a good choice given your situation. I actually think that he stands a pretty good shot at staying at SS with the Royals. If Gordon stays at 3B, it will help his chances. The Royals have already said they are going to keep him at SS to start with and let his bat finish developing.
