Angels agree to terms with Rodriguez

Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - The Anaheim Angels and pitcher Francisco Rodriguez agreed to terms Friday on a one-year contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The right-handed Rodriguez, 22, compiled an 8-3 record as a rookie in 2004. He posted a 3.03 ERA with two saves in 59 games.

The team also agreed to terms on a one-year contract with 26-year-old catcher Wil Nieves, who batted .283 in 102 games for Triple-A Salt Lake last season.

The Angels have 16 players remaining to be signed for the upcoming 2004 season.
