I dont think that Yahoo should add anyone to the database until they have actually played or pitched in a game. That would be the most fair way of adding people to the database. Jay Bruce, Longoria, etc... should not be in the system in my opinion. Neither have played a game in the MLB, and both are starting the season in the I own Longoria on my keeper league team, so it works out for me, but it still isn't fair.

^^exactly. i don't understand yahoo's logic. they can have guys like you said...bruce, longoria, rasmus...all guys that are top prospects but have not played in the big leagues, yet cueto who has been argueably one of the best young pitchers this spring and is projected to get the number 5 spot in the rotation still isn't added.

i wish they would come up with an official criteria so people can stop guessing when players will be added.

There seems to be a lot of complaining over the way Yahoo's stat provider adds players. While I understand it's not their fault (as Genie keeps pointing out), it does seem that adding them after their first official game played would be the least confusing way to do it.

Obviously, it would stink if a guy like Bruce was given a starting spot in ST and owners had to simply hope their waiver priority was good enough to get him, but as Montana said, that's exactly what's happening anyway with Cueto.

Personally, I have no problem with the fact that Yahoo is usually the last fantasy provider to add prospects. My gripe (and it seems I'm not alone) is the ambiguity from case to case as to when a player is added.
