How long will Kershaw be down on the farm?

Torre keeps saying how good the kid is and that he should start the season in the minors. Then why is he still hanging with the big boys? How soon do you feel before he gets the call or will he start season in bullpen?

he most likely won't start the season in the majors even though he may be ready. i think the kid is only 20-21 years old so they don't want to rush him. he is one of the top pitching prospects and is having a great spring mainly coming out of the bullpen. it is probably 90% that he will start the season in the minors because he is so young and also the dodgers are okay at their starters with penny, lowe, and kuroda. i could see this kid coming up maybe after the all-star break...but i wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him until september or not at all because they don't want to kill his arm so ealry in his career.

one thing is for sure...he has a great chance of dominating right at the start.

Without any hard evidence to back this up, I think it's possible the Dodgers bring him up and use him in the pen like they did with Billingsley. It will give him pro experience and then he can get stretched out next year. If Saito keeps having these leg (buttocks) problems and Broxton winds up as the closer, the Dodgers will have a very weak bullpen a problem that will be evident in such a competitive division. Anyways, as always it depends on how deep your re-draft league is, but I think he should be owned in any and all keeper leagues.

Manager Joe Torre indicated that Kershaw was likely to open the year in Double-A, the Dodgers' official site reports.
Spin: Torre made the comparison to Joba Chamberlain, indiciating that he expected Kershaw to help the club at some point this year. Targeting Kershaw in keeper leagues is a must.

How would it be possible to get Cueto and Kershaw? Cueto is surely going with a top 4-5 waiver position (probably top 2-3) and Kershaw would be a guaranteed #1 WW usage unless he and Price were on the waivers at the same time in which case it would be a tossup.

I have the #1 WW and I am drooling over either Kershaw or Price...

I have the #1 waiver priority, which of these pitchers should I go for? I already picked up Volquez because his K / BB ratio in spring training really impressed me. I am not too familiar with the other guys though.
