Didn't you read the first post?
14 shut out innings with 16Ks! He will compete with Johan for the Cy Young at that rate. If he pitches 225 innings this year he'll get 257 Ks.
Wow now that's a sleeper.

:-D

O:-)

Normally I like my 6th starter (first off the bench) to be a young guy with a lot of upside. However, this year I've taken the opposite approach with a couple of teams. If I drafted a starter that is an injury risk like Liriano or Sheets I drafted Westbrook as my 6th starter so I had a pretty safe arm on the bench that could fill in and get me wins without killing my ERA or WHIP. I don't think he'll keep up what he's doing in ST, but if he's healthy all year and the Clv bats come through he could get 12-16 wins with an ERA around 4.20 and 120 K's.

Jake is one of those guy that is not as valuable in fantasy as he is in real life... and only because he doesn't get the Ks. His ERA and WHIP are equal to a solid #2 in real baseball. His sinker can be as nasty as anyone's in the league when he is on. And I stress "when he is on," because he'll have an occassional game where he has no action on his sinker and he implodes...greatly skewing his overall numbers. When he is REALLY dealing, he is almost unhittable (like yesterday). As a Tribe fan I am grateful to have him on my team as our #3 behind CC and Carmona... but I wouldn't own him in fantasy other than a #6 simply because he doesn't strike out enough batters.

perhaps this is the year westbrook becomes what loaiza was in 2003? gotta admit westbrook's strikeouts this spring make him somewhat tempting.

Yeah, no kidding. He's faced the Braves twice now and struck out Tex 5 times. Commentators and fans I know who have watched Cleveland their whole life are really ;-D about him. He's got a sinker that's ranging 90-92mph. If his control stays this solid he'll definitely be very fantasy relevant this year.

I grabbed him in my $ league. He has been "fantasy relevant" in past years, maybe not last year, but I still think he has it in him. He pitches for a solid Indians team, and I'd say his ceiling is 14+ wins with solid ratios. ;-D

solid ratios? his era is average at best, his whip sucks, and he doesn't strike anybody out. wins could go either way. pointless to chase wins with mediocre pitchers. it's just going to be a waste of a roster spot, but if you want to pencil yourself in for 7th place before the season starts then go for it.

He's developed a new pitch that is keeping hitters honest. Might be a nice surprise this year.

Wow dude, in all of your posts you make it sound like you know everything and everyone else is stupid.
It's no wonder you have Curt Schilling as your pic.
