Anybody know when the Rays will "officially" put him on the DL so I can move him to my fantasy DL?

He plays for the Jays, and I don't know...yahoo always seems to be a step behind.

I've been waiting for this too. My guess is that he goes on the DL over the weekend since "opening day" is Monday

Yahoo puts them on the DL when the team puts them on the DL. Prior just got put on the DL last night after the Cubs put him there. When the Jays put him on the DL, Yahoo will shortly.

He certainly wont go back immediatley into the closer role, at most he'll be splitting time with Accardo when he comes back, perhaps not at all if Accardo does well.

They paid him too much money to be middle relief. He will return to closing if he is at his level when he returns. That is the only chance he does not return to closing, if he is garbage when Ryan comes back. Even if Accardo is perfect through April, no hits, walks, or runs, he won't take the job away from a healthy Ryan. Healthy Ryan is better than Best Accardo

I think the Jays already said that if Ryan is healthy he is their closer. So whenever he comes back he will be the closer.

Lidge will be back in the role on April 5th. He is only missing 4 games.

Ryan probably will be out a little longer. I'm guessing by the end of April he will be back in the game and closing, I'm assuming there is no setback of course.

I just picked up Ryan and to me its worth it for right now. I currently have Beckett on the DL but he will back the 5th and then Ill move Ryan to the DL until he returns. Short term its a bit of a hit but long term holding onto him if you can will be valuable (that is if he returns to the closer role and does well).

I am also in a 14 team league so all the closers are pretty well picked over. I had choices of leftovers such as Al Reyes and a few others who are not closers anymore. I figured Ryan is worth the roster spot for now.

My other closers are Corpas, who is very under rated, and Soriano whom I know little about.
