Giants O/U @ 73 too generous?

I think people are blowing this out of proportion. Young teams tend to be unpredictable and with the pitching depth they have, I'll bet they win around 73 games or more. I think Bonds departure is a good thing as he was weighing them down. Instead of waiting for him to drive in all the runs, they need to be more creative and aggressive.

They'll need to pitch and field better, prevent blow out games and play fundamental baseball. They look like crap on paper but I'll bet players start blossoming without Bonds.

while i agree, they didnt do anything to replace his spot in the lineup. rowand is nothing more than a .290 20-25 hr type hitter, which is solid for a 5 or 6 hitter, but not for a 3 hole with benji molina as protection.

I think if given a chance a lot of no-namers can be productive. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of players emerge out of nowhere. Obviously you still want some presence in your line up but what can you do? Everyone will have to step it up and I wouldn't completely count out a trade to bring in a bat.

Way way way too generous. So many questions with so few answers. Two stud young pitchers and a decent closer do not a professional team make.
I would think the smart money would be on them losing 100 games vs 73 wins. Baseball in the bay is going to suck this season.

So how about them Giants? Three headed monster: Cain-Lincecum-Sanchez is mowing down opponents. Their offense is horrible but still winning games due to some great pitching performances.
