Each week you need to log that many innings with your pitchers....that rule is used to stop guys from playing only relief pitchers...Need to use a couple of good starters.
I'd have to say more than 9-12. a CGSO would give you 9 IP, a 0.00 ERA and likely a very low WHIP as well.
On average, you'd expect an owner to pitch his whole staff (5 SP's)in any given week, some pitchers might go twice. I wouldn't want to put the minimum at the 45 innings 5 games would entail, but I think I'd want him to pitch at least 4 games, or 36 innings based on a 9 inning game. Since he probably won't be using middle releivers too often, you could maybe say 8 innings pitcher per game, bringing you down to 32 IP. 30 seems like a reasonable minimum to ensure owners stay active and submit a competitve line-up every week.

I'm new here and still trying to make sure I understand this. If I set my Minimum innings pitched per team per week at 12, does that mean each SP on my team has to pitch 12 innings or does it mean all 5 starters must total 12? I'm just using 12 as an example.
all th epitchers on the team, starters and relievers need to accumulate at least 12 (for example) innings through the whole week or none of the stats count. You can see here, 12 innings is not a lot, you could use one start (ex. Pedro vs TB) for 7 innings 0 runs and a .65 whip and then use relievers for the other 5 innings. You get your 12 and you win era, whip, etc. I agree the minimum should be more like 25-30. Just my 2 cents
