Nick Johnson is a great hitter with superb patience. He reminds me of the post-prime Helton that is much more brittle. I guess I would rank Johnson's ceiling as our present day Helton.

Excellent analogy. I think we can expect 20 hrs 90 rbi and around .300. If healthy, he'll be an everyday player since he's also a very good first baseman. He's a quality CI or backup 1b.

Johnson is always very solid, but unspectacular when healthy. If he could somehow put together 162 games he could hit over .300 with over 25HRs, not shabby at all.

I like these projections, but coming back from a leg injury may limit his speed a little bit. I would go with:

.345 AVG .480 OBP 42 HR 136 RBI 22 SBS (to account for his reduced speed)

MVP! MVP! MVP! :-D
