Rotation Set

Postby deerayfan072 » Sun Mar 23, 2008 12:03 pm

With Kazmir Sidelined here is the rotation:

Shields
Garza
Sonnanstine
Jackson
Hammel %-6

Here is the thing for me, I am fine with Jackson in the rotation, but Hammel should not be. Howell should be long relief as he has dominated that during ST and faltered when they let him start, but why not Niemann. Hammel has been garbage all ST with an era of 7.13, while Niemann had a 1.50 ERA and looked impressive. Niemann kept the ball down like they asked and worked hard and we send him down for Hammel who is terrible. These are the decisions that drive me crazy.

I like JP in the pen, but they could of given someone else a shot over hammel.
But once Kazmir is in he is out for sure, and we will only have to suffer through EJax until the deadline when we deal him or put him in the pen.

That rotation definitely will not lead us to 80 wins as I have predicted. Kazmir and Niemann better be back in Tampa shortly. :-o

Spring Training is the key words in that sentence. Howell is just not that good.

I think he could be decent if he went to a different division. He could also do well in 1 or 2 innings as a reliever. :-?

He doesn't have any above average pitches. He is not doing decent in any division unless he gets extremely lucky. His best chance to make it as a good big leaguer would be as a LOOGY or as a innings eater out of the pen.
