Granderson breaks finger

Postby moochman » Sun Mar 23, 2008 11:00 am

out one month! According to Danny Knobler of MLive.com
Curtis Granderson was hit on the right hand by a pitch in yesterday's game vs. the Philadelphia Phillies, and the injury was initially thought to be nothing more than a bruise. Unfortunately, after X-rays were taken of Granderson's hand, a non-displaced was found in his right middle finger. According to Knobler, Curtis is expected to be out of the lineup for three weeks.

Granderson was placed on the DL for a month. Unable to find a link, but the Radio is confirming this injury.

Any speculation on who hits leadoff while he is out?

Holy crap! The fantasy season is truly in full swing. I thought I picked up a steal getting him at pick 50, Grady Sizemore-lite without the downward BA pull. This sucks.

To be fair, I think Grady had a down year and Granderson had an up year of AVG last year. This news sucks really badly for Granderson owners but I am really happy I picked Rios over him now.

Bad news for Granderson owners..good news for Pudge owners??? Is Leyland going to bat Pudge and his 7 ST HRs at leadoff for a week or two?

It was a down year, but not by much.

Yeah, I wish I had grabbed Rios right about now, but hopefully he gets through this quickly. I don't want to panic yet, but injuries to your fingers or hands are never a good thing for a hitter. Of course, I also drafted Freddy Sanchez (can't thow a ball right now), Yovani Gallardo (starting the season on the DL, which was expected), Chad Billingsley (no info yet that I know of for sure, but rumors are being whispered that he could be dealing with an injury).

Ahhh, the fantasy gods at work screwing over the start to my season already...
