What's aj burnett going to do this season, what are his projections?

First of all, he won't even be ready to pitch in live games unitl around the All-Star Break. At that point, you'd have to check out his velocity and control from team reports. I would guess that if he comes back around that time-frame and is fully, or almost fully, recovered, he'd be good for 7-9 wins, probably 120 K's with a 3.50ish ERA and a WHIP around 1.32.......

A.J. Burnett threw off a mound Thursday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery nine months ago.
"Today it went nice and easy," Burnett said. "Nothing hurts. But I'm looking at the big picture. I'm ready to strike somebody out." Burnett thinks it's possible that he could be ready to start the season in the Florida rotation. However, it's still likely that he'll experience a setback or two.

I have not heard about any setbacks yet. Where are you getting your information hooligan1? And since when does a guy recover nearly completely from Tommy John almost immidiately upon his return?

i looked at the florida marlins website and they said mid-may at the LATEST so its not the all-star break.

Last I heard, Burnett was expected to be back May 1st.

I think he'll be back end of may early june. That said I wouldn't want to own him until next season. Just look at the history of this injury and you'll see that a guys isn't healthy until 18 months removed from surgery. If you can stash him on the bench do so. If not let the other guys draft him then pick him off the waiver wire when they drop him and stash him yourself.
