First year of a keeper league. 12 teams, 5x5 roto. $250 budget, keep 10 players for 2 years at same price. Then you may have to pay more... but let's not worry about that for now. I believe it was everyone's first auction, so when I had the most money at the end of the draft, I was able to get a boatload of players for very little. We get 3 drops a year only (not including DL) and there's a minor league draft upcoming.

team looks good to me, got some real steals there too i think (i dont do auctions, but dlee for 15 and pence for 16 seem like really good prices to me)...all i can say is id try to upgrade hardy, but in a 12 teamer he'll suffice
i wouldnt do that trade, gallardo is coming back after missing 2 starts or so and will be better than mcgowan at a cheaper price
I must say im not farmiliar with auction leagues, but i see a lot of prices that i like on that list - verlander and Dlee specifically. I think you may have overpayed a little bit for upton, but it seems to have worked out well enough. upton should perform, im still not sold on him being that high of a value. when he proves he's worth that then youll be golden. Otherwise, it looks like a solid team. I see we both agree that towles will be a monster this year. Go towel-ly!
Good luck this year, and thanks for the help on mine!
Nice job. Primary spots of concern are your lack of a good power 1B. Having one of those would help, assuming in your format that you can trade frequently. I'd target a heavy hitting first-baseman or two.
Don't move Gallardo... he's cheaper and better and in the NL (the trifecta!) I would try counter-offering with Blanton for McGowan(bad team, no K's). Overall good team, not a fan of Rowand in the OF (but for $1 you can't go wrong).
Ya, I've given up on that trade. Also McGowan is overvalued because we're all Jays fans. My computer screwed up when it was my turn to throw out a player, so the computer auto-chose Rowand. We're going to talk to the comissioner to let us switch him for Justin Upton (who went undrafted). We can't just drop him because we only get 3 drops a year. How does the team look otherwise.
The team looks great! I agree with all that you overpaid for Braun and Upton, doubly so since your only locked in for 2 years. But, with that aside, it did not seem to have much effect on the later rounds of your draft, where I think you shined. Lots of young talent that will deliver this year, and improve nicely for 09. Youlk should be a great midseason trade candiate.
I'll admit I panicked, but superstars were going for over 45, this resulted in everyone being short on cash at the end of the draft. After those 2 I became more frugal and only spent over $20 on one player (Markakis). It allowed be to build a pitching staff for cheap.
2 more questions:
We're having a minor league draft, who do you think the best minor leaguers for the coming FANTASY season are?
Nice Draft! I have no experience in auctions, but looks like you spent your $$ wisely. I would suggest looking at Youklis, hopefully Casey will not take too many of his at bats. I am also not found of uggla-too many K's and very streaky. Otherwise I like your team alot. Good luck.
