Plenty of players from last offseason, ended up being drafted high, and failling miserably.....guys like

Alfonso Soriano
Travis Hafner
Andruw Jones
Jermaine Dye
Vernon Wells
Chris Carpenter
BJ Ryan
Jason Schmidt

etc

All greatly underperformed their draft positions..............but who do you remember from this time last year, that people where hyping to the heavens, and were Cafe favorites that didn't end up turning out?

I think a lot of people were hyping Hermida last year and he didnt do a whole lot in 07. I think I also remember seeing an Austin Kearns Bandwagon thread that was many pages long, guess that didnt pan out.

Homer Bailey had some Lincecum/Gallardo-esque hype surrounding him, there for a bit......yet got lit up, upon his arrival.

Just about every elite starter for 2007 fell flat.

Carpenter, Zambrano, Halladay, Oswalt, and, to a lesser extent, Santana, were all overdrafted. Only Brandon Webb was a real rock and Peavy was a big bargain in the 4th/5th rounds.

Looking back on my MDP report from last year, here are some players that ended up getting drafted way too high:

Hafner, Alex Gordon, Delmon Young, Teahen, Kendrick, Damon, Bill Hall, Dice-K, Bonderman, Julio Lugo, Rolen, Weeks, Willis, Schmidt, Baldelli, Barfield, J.D. Drew, Stephen Drew, and Scott Olsen
