Thought it might be nice to gather the collective Cafe wisdom on late news that will significantly affect your draft order. Even those awesome Cafe rankings are a bit out-of-date now, so a thread that the less-involved manager can check to avoid embarrassing draft mistakes might be nice.
So, I'll start: Jarrod Saltalamacchia is likely to start the season in AAA, so avoid drafting him as your starter.

aye good idea.
Josh Fields is not draftable as a regular player. The Crede situation is too unknown to draft Fields as anything more than a flyer.
People have been jumping on Rickie Weeks in like the 8th round expecting a 30-30 or 25-25 season from him. He has been stinking in ST strikeout wise and has just sprained his hand or something. Temper your expectations and maybe even pass over him for someone else. In my opinion, draft Kinsler instead for sure.
Don't sleep on Lastings Milledge, expecting to grab him in the last two rounds. If you want him, grab him by round 15-16.
Akinori Iwamura has 3B eligibility but will have 2B eligibility in no time. His stats should be more than useful there. If you're stuck late w/o a 2bman, grab him.
San Diego rook Chase Headley has been the team's best hitter in ST, and should be the guy in LF. He gets a boost if Edmonds goes DL, and will have 3B/OF eligible by mid April, providing he stays in the Bigs...
I am getting excited about Headley but there may be too much competition. Any Padre homers with info on his chances to stick? He had a pinch homer yesterday.
Ervin Santana and John Maine are having excellent Springs, folks.

I should have mentioned Headley as I've been following him in the Spring Training Thread.
Anyway, he has been the best hitter by far but he still has options remaining. They do have other options at LF unfortunately and if he doesn't keep hitting, he probably won't play. Worth a flier but don't count on him just yet.

May be useful only for deep or 2-catcher leagues, but ...
Ronnie Paulino, C, Pit — Mar 20 Paulino (pinched nerve) was placed on the 15-day DL Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reports. Recommendation: Paulino won't be able to throw for at least a month and could be out for an additional two or three months once he can pick up a baseball.
Doumit (C/OF) just got a substantial bump with guaranteed at-bats.

Wrong Paulino! That is in reference to Felipe Paulino, SP, HOU
