Dioner Navarro...your thoughts

He has been tearing it up this spring and is a up and coming catcher for the DRays. I have AJ Pierzynski as my starting catcher, but Navarro is still available. Your thoughts please?

i like Chris Snyder, he hit .292 after the allstar break and is possibly moving up the lineup in Arizona. Their manager has been quoted as saying he could bat somewhere from 4 - 6 in the lineup. And now that Paulino is hurt, I think given enough at bats Ryan Doumit would make a nice hitting catcher. He did hit .275 in 225 abs last season. I agree navarro is hitting the ball well this spring but i think thats more of a product of pitchers not throwing much breaking stuff in spring training. i still think navarro is a sub .240 hitter. Id prefer either of Snyder or Doumit going into this season.

Although Navarro and Snyder are both up and coming players. If you remember Navarro was a key piece to that Kevin Brown deal. I'd still stick with AJ. WHy take virtually two unproven players when you have a guy who although you might not like because he is a huge donkey, he still puts up top-10 catcher numbers each season!

Paulino C from Pit is not hurt. Yahoo screwed up, it is Paulino the pitcher from Houston that is injured. If you look closely, the report says its from a Houston news paper. Just an FYI so you dont make a decision because Yahoo is dumb.

Navarro had a strong second half and has continued it in ST. If he repeats his second half stats from last year he would be a top 10 C for sure. He is worth keeping in eye on for now
