Bruce didn't think the quad injury that cost him five days hurt.

"I was as ready as I could be," he said. "I played well. I thought my defense was fine. I didn't hit the ball as well as I would have liked."

Bruce hit .262 with a double and three RBI in 42 at-bats.

Patterson joining the club didn't help matters any.... but we have to remember that Bruce has played only 56 games above the Single-A level. :-?

He'll be back...

From the lack of response to this post i guess this was expected. Does anyone have insight to when we might see him back in the bigs? or is it dependant on the performance and health of those in front of him?

either way i'm not sure if he is worth using a roster spot for anymore. My team is already turning into shambles.

Baldelli, Andy LaRoche, Bruce, Longoria, Kazmir, Gallardo?!? Not to damaging to my team but still frustrating.

Does anyone have an idea when we might see Bruce called back up? Any reports or rumors? Or are we all just waiting on someone getting hurt or sucking?

I think all bets are off at this point and it really just depends on the health and performance of the current Reds OFers. I'm sure Griffey will get hurt at some point and Patterson will remember that he's not very good, even then Freel could be the first off the bench. So Bruce is probably not worth holding on to in re-draft leagues, but is an immediate add the second he's rumored to get called up again. Nobody should be dropping him in keeper and dynasty leagues.

even if called up he's still going to have to deal w/ baker. meaning he'll probably hit low in the order, and not play everyday.

I'd be very surprised if he's called up to be anything other than an every day player. Usually teams try to get players at his level of development as many ABs as possible, hence why he gets sent down in the first place.
