Mar 20 Bob McManaman, of the Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin said he could envision OF Chris B. Young hitting fourth in the lineup this season.
Has anyone heard any news whether he will bat fourth?? That could boost up his value due to the more rbi

You know, I think i saw that on RotoFeed. But the next 3 reporst had Melvin "envisioning" 3 other guys batting 4th too. I think Byrnes and Jackson were on the list. Forget the 3rd.
They are loaded with potential. Jackson, Drew, Upton, can all have breakout seasons. Ideally, I think they want their 4th hitter to not strike out as much.
The D'back line-up is a mess. Theres not a player there with a clearly defined role in that lineup. Aside from Justin Upton, who should hit clean up in time, the others could hit from 1st to 7th in other teams.

I'd love to see CB Young hitting cleanup, watching him hit so many home runs with nobody ever on base is disappointing. With his power, he could be driving in 90+ easily if he didn't stink it up in any spot but leadoff.
Yeah that list included Snyder, Conor Jackson and Eric Byrnes. He's just saying the guys on his team who he would be comfortable with the role...he was talking up his young players. Snyder and Jackson would never be no. 4 hitters on a good team (although Jackson may grow into a 25/100 or 30/100 player this year, making him worthy).
I expect Young to start hitting leadoff, and maybe they put him at 3 or 4 if he proves that he can hit for enough average--like .270 or so.
