theriot was a total error. but 2B isnt really a big deal anyway at this stage. im sure damage control should be easy enough
send a link and i'll help you out too. i know im a new account, but only because i lost my password and email from before.
I like your bats but I'm not crazy about your pitching with the exception of Peavy. Hamels is a solid #2 but the health issue clouds him somewhat. Same for Saito as your top closer. After that, I feel like there aren't any sure bets in your pitching staff. Fortunately, pitching is always easier to find of the FA list.
good overall team..... 2B is your weakness for hitters, i like zimmerman alot this year, hes gunna have a great year....after holliday your OF drops off quite a bit...personally i dont like pierre bacause he doesnt do much other then steal, but u dont really have any1 else for steals...pithing staff looks good, some concerns, but good nontheless
yes u should get snell, prob drop mclouth...not sure though
Hamels an injury risk? First I've heard of this...
Gotta agree with the rest of laub's critique of your pitching. Corpas is a nice closer but after Hamels, your pitching isn't that good. Theriot was a pretty annoying mistake since Kendrick was probably available at that point and he's loads better. It's a team that will contribute solidly in all categories, but a little thinly. I don't see this team winning to be honest.
That said, my advice is to trade for some high risk/high ceiling players.
Your pitching might not be as bad as some are suggesting but it does need work. Snell would def help. Dealing one of your OF for a quality pitcher would probably be smart.
You have 2 top 10 pitchers in Peavy and Hamels, Peavy being top 3 EASY. Hudson and Lilly aren't horrendous so I think with Snell added in you won't be hurting like you think. RP you have 2 decent closers but question marks on all 3..Saito age and Broxton, Corpas new to it and Fuentes, Gagne..Gagne I'd see if you can make room to pick up Broxton or Fuentes unless there are other RP on the wire.
Theriot you may have picked a little high but for your league size I see not a huge issue with him being your 2B. You should try and move Pierre ASAP to a team who's in dire need of steals however and try to get a decent bat or SP.
second, awesome pick in first round where holliday fell to you with 9th pick and swisher in the 16th.
my first impression is you to improve your staring pitching and relieving.
i don't know what kind of bench slots you have and the line up so can't say who to drop if you had to, but if you can try to make a trade to improve your pitching. Don't know how many OF's you need, but I would guess 5 as you have 7. If you have to drop someone, I see Ellsbury, Ibanez and McClouth as potential droppables.
I can't argue with the help you've gotten from the other posts here. my two cents on who to drop is ellsbury. (I being from boston, not that means much, but with coco still around he's a platoon guy at best. any of you want to take look at my team?
