what is everyone's strategy when it comes to pitchers? Do you grab top notch SP or closers? im pretty new to this so i just wanted to see everyone's opinion

I usually dont grab a pitcher until the 6th(ish) round, and closers in the 13th-15th area. I guess it depends on your leagues format, but with my leagues format, saves are worth 10 points(total points league).

I play in a roto league 5x5 and I tend to grab 2 closers in the first 10 rounds and then I usually fill out my pitching in rounds 8-15.

In total, I pick 3 closers. I take two proven top 8 closers (i.e. KRod and Hoffman) early and then I take a "sleeper" closer later (i.e. Wood).

For starting pitching I don't take anyone usually until I fill out most of my offense and relief pitching. I spend most of the middle rounds taking starting pitching. This season I took Kazmir in the 7th and finished my pitching off with Snell in the 14th. So I took 6 starting pitchers in that span between 7th and 14th round. I then finish off my starting pitching with a sleeper pitcher. This year I took Kuroda in the last round.

It depends on the league format. I draft the best player available first 5 rounds, so my strategy will change based on what I get there. I won't reach for closers, just take them whenever they come around.
