What of Jered Weaver?

Postby skjelstrom » Thu Mar 20, 2008 6:07 pm

I'm expecting Weaver to go big this season. I might be expecting too much from him especially coming back from being hurt, but im hoping i might be able to maybe get a trade in for him if he's going to be worth anything. What do you guys think he is worth?

I think he's hugely underrated, he's as good as any of the young pitchers being taken in the 120-150 range. Now that he's past his injury from last year and had his sophomore slump, I think he's actually learned how to pitch.

185 IP, 15 W, 3.65 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 170 K is a reasonable projection, with room to do better.

Jered Weaver was injured for part of last year which didn't help his case. He definitely knows how to get big-league hitters out but isn't the kind of pitcher to blow them away. He'll come close to those projections I think perhaps not as many K's as we would like but enough to make you happy.

You have solid pitching with Bedard, Dice-K, Smoltz then you have Billingsly, Linceum, Buchholtz

If you get Wagner for Atkins that will boost era, whip & saves ( Capps, Street, Wagner - then include Percival in a trade )

Do you need Weaver? Maybe not. :-?

Maybe take the Wagner 4 Atkins, then offer Konerko & Percival for Weaver....??? just a thought.

just saw this, you should plan accordingly:
