12-Team Roto: Shot at Contention?

12-Team 5x5 Standard Roto League. It's a keeper league, 8 keepers per year - no maximum keeping length. We also get 2-4 prospects every two years. It seems to me that all I have to worry about right now are saves and maybe steals. It seems like Accardo will have the job for a little while early on while Im sure they won't let Ryan pitch back to back games early on so he'll get a few saves no matter what. Im hoping that'll hold me over long enough to find some saves from the FA. Also hoping that Marmol steals the job, otherwise throw up some good K/9 / ERA / WHIP. For steals, I shot for a lot of guys with the capability of swiping a handful of bases along with their normal season numbers. I'm not too worried about it and I have Cameron Maybin as a prospect for some possible speed if he plays well enough.

I could be wrong, but speed looks somewhat weak while saves are gonna be hard to come by. If Kerry Wood takes over closer role, then the team is really in trouble in terms of saves.

You should have a good shot at contention. I think you might want to try and improve your batting average some. Keep an eye on runs as well. I think I would try and deal Wells (hopefully to be replaced with maybin) although it might be hard to get fair value right now. I would definitely look to deal renteria and get a better bat at utility since his real value is at ss and someone in your league would probably pay for that. I think your bullpen strategy should be fine.
