Adam Wainwright to Sign Long-Term with Cardinals?

Postby JimmyBaseball » Thu Mar 20, 2008 9:46 am

I listen to MLB Home Plate on XM radio in the mornings and on my way to work today they mentioned in their 90 second wrap up that Wainwright and the Cardinals are nearing a long-term deal. That was all that was mentioned. I looked on a few rumor websites and checked out this board and don't see a thing about it. Has anyone else heard this, yet?

Have a great day

The Cardinals plan to finalize and announce a multiple-year deal for Wainwright that could make him a fixture in the rotation through 2013.

The contract is pending the results of a physical Wainwright had Wednesday. Multiple sources said that an agreement had been reached. The club declined to comment, citing a policy of not discussing contract negotiations. Wainwright and his agent have also declined to comment.

Good deal for the Birds.

And as for your quote....would you rather get this back to being a Yankee Red Sox forum? Baseball does exist outside of the Northeast. I suppose you can't handle a team with a winning tradition (whatever you're a fan of).

This is a myth. Confirmed on Snopes.
