My First FFBaseball Draft

I don't really know much about this yet, but I'm giving it a shot this season. I tried to follow the cafe mock and a couple of other rankings.

I drafted 1st out of 10 teams. 5x5 Roto, HR, RBI, SB, TB, Avg, normal pitching stats.

I'll appreciate any input you can give me. I think it looks pretty good for power and TB but my SB/Avg are going to be mediocre and bad respectively. I dunno about my pitching, possibly good?

Pitching could end up being a little light on K's. If you can convince someone salty is better than what they have I would move him. Not sure you need the 4 closers. I would move 1 or 2 of them. Your pitching staff could be good but it could also implode everything after webb is young, talented but who knows. Seek at least one pitcher that might be able to provide some consistency and help bolster your staff in case one or more of your pitchers flame out. Digging a hole in avg early does not usually turn out well in roto so you might want to consider making some moves with this in mind.

So who should I consider targeting then? I don't really know enough yet to really be able to move guys around.

I was considering leaving BA where ever it ends up and just going for RBI/HR/TB and coming up somewhere in the middle on SBs.

As for the pitching, I was under the impression that I wanted to have atleast 100 sv potential on my team. I thought that having solid closers (of which I only actually have 3, along with a part time middle reliever and a true middle type guy) was more important than having 6 or 7 solid SPs.

I appreciate any help and any suggestions that will help me on my first FB season.

In a 10 team league I think you will be able to come by some saves throughout the season. That is why I suggested maybe trying to trade a closer now and then replacing it later off of waivers.

i agree, closers are something you can pick up later off waivers. keep an eye on the closers thread in the "Baseball Leftovers" forum. your pitching staff has potential for inconsistency, since there are some young guys on there, so i definitely think you should find a solid pitcher as an anchor for your staff.
