Yet another team to analyze!

Postby TheGentleman » Thu Mar 20, 2008 12:28 am

Ok, finally had our drunken draft and I figured here's the best place to get opinions on my team. I had a basic plan going into the draft but I got there late (I had to phone in my 1st pick, which was Holliday) and it was really a clusterfuck of people trying to run the draft so I ended up throwing any actual plans out the window.

10 teams, H2H, ESPN
Stats that count are:
Offense: TB, Hits, Runs, HRs, Avg, SB, OPS
Pitching: Wins, Losses, Ks, Saves, ERA, WHIP, K/9

1B: Mark Teixeira
2B: Ian Kinsler
3B: Garret Atkins
SS: Michael Young
Catcher: Jarrod Saltalamacchia
OF: Matt Holliday
OF: Manny Ramirez
OF: Eric Byrnes
DH Garret Anderson
bench:
1B: Joey Votto
3B: Evan Longoria
SS: Julio Lugo
OF: Shane Victorino

Pitching
SP: Jake Peavy
SP: Aaron Harang
SP: Chris Young
SP: Andy Pettite
RP: Bobby Jenks
RP: Chad Cordero

Sober up and fix the post so we can figure out what roster requirements are. Although maybe it is just a weird league, hits and avg, tb and ops. Anyway offense looks pretty good regardless. Im confused on your pitching staff.

what's confusing about those 3 starters? Petitte is a question mark but the other 3 are a great start. Not sure the positional requirements but I may be keeping a close eye on the waiver wire trying to pick up an available closer. Maybe everyone was too drunk and forgot about Jonothan Broxton?

Haha, I posted this hours after the draft. I do what I can to stay away from the internet when I've been drinking too much.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you mean by Roster requirements. This is only the second team I've ever done. My main concern that I discussed off this site was Jarrod Saltalamacchia possibly not getting the starting job.

Also, I should have more than two closers?

you probably need some more pitching depth, and maybe a little more offense. I think there should still be pitchers and closers on the wire.

What positions you have people starting at and who is on the bench. You got good advice on salty and probably needing another closer.

You could use a bit more homerun power and maybe a more reliable starter aside from Andy Pettite. I mean, he's a great pitcher and all, but I personally think he's going to miss games because of testimony this season.

Also, what's with all the duplicative categories? (H/Avg. and TB/OPS)

Please help with mine... posting.php?mode=post&f=29
