I'd like some feedback on my team, I know people will probably comment on me taking Chamberlin, Hughes AND Kennedy, I agree that it probably wasn't smart, but Kennedy was a last min. decision and wasn't intended from the get-go.
I'd appreciate some suggestions, I'm kind of nervous about my closers.
Anyway here ya go.
C - Russell Martin 1B - Adrián González 2B - Rickie Weeks 3B - Edwin Encarnación SS - Jimmy Rollins OF - Manny Ramírez OF - Carlos Beltrán OF - Torii Hunter OF - Ken Griffey Jr. (Util spot right now) OF - Jacoby Ellsbury (BN right now) 1B, 3B, OF - Casey Blake (BN right now)
SP - John Lackey - Injured I know but he'll be back mid-may. SP - Roy Oswalt SP - Matt Cain SP - Phil Hughes SP - Ubaldo Jimenez SP - Ian Kennedy RP - Tony Pena RP - B.J. Ryan RP - Joba Chamberlin RP - Hideki Okajima
Any input would be great, thanks.
I'm hoping Chamberlin and Okajima pick up some saves and keep the ERA down for my team.

I think your batting is solid compared to the pitching, you may have problems at the beginning of your season with lackey out and chamberlain not starting until whenever. But if they work out you will have excellent depth.

Sorry, it's a 12 team league, 10 stats.
I'm planning on putting Lackey on the DL and picking up someone... but I'm not sure who really.
Hard to comment on the draft without seeing the order, but I think I can guess pretty well who went when. I think you lost some value in some areas (not a huge fan of Beltran, Ramirez, or Martin where you likely took them, I prefer to take players that are on the upside, or plateau, of their careers, not the downside). You're weak at 2B and 3B, and a lot of your OF are old and likely to break down.
You're right that your relievers are a problem; you have no probable starting closers (BJ is likely going to do almost nothing this year, it is too soon after TJ surgery). I don't like the Lackey pick, assuming you took him before round 10 or so . . . he is going to lose 6 or 7 starts at best, and there is no guarantee that he will be his 'old self' when he comes back. Joba and Okajima will have minimal value, presumably you can stream them in to assist with WHIP and ERA but overall I think you have some holes that need addressing.

I'm a huge fan of baseball in general but I'm just getting into fantasy sports, I did football this past season for the first time as well and had a blast so I'm now giving baseball a whirl and had fun drafting my players...

Overall, I like the team, despite the average age on most of your roster. Your pitching is certainly your weakest spot, and I would pick up kuroda to fill in for lackey for his DL stint. See if George Sherrill is still available, or Kerry Wood. It's likely that they arent, but they are now officially (sherrill) and almost definatly (Wood) closers now. Also, check to see if CJ Wilson is available - he'll be closing for TEX. If none of these fellows are available, then your in some serious trouble regarding pitching, saves particularly. Good luck though.
