My friends and I have had a league for 5 years now and I have won every year. Do you think this team will have a chance at making it 6? The problems I see right now are my starting shortstop and the health of my starting pitching. If my pitchers can stay healthy I think I will have a chance to contend again. Standard 12-team 5x5 Roto league.
My draft went like this:
- Code: Select all
1. (5) Matt Holliday OF
2. (20) Vladimir Guerrero OF
3. (29) Lance Berkman 1B,OF
4. (44) Cole Hamels SP
5. (53) Garrett Atkins 1B,3B
6. (68) Corey Hart OF
7. (77) Ian Kinsler 2B
8. (92) Vernon Wells OF
9. (101) Ben Sheets SP
10. (116) Jeff Francoeur OF
11. (125) Francisco Liriano SP
12. (140) Rafael Soriano RP
13. (149) Joakim Soria RP
14. (164) Jered Weaver SP
15. (173) Oliver Pérez SP
16. (188) Josh Hamilton OF
17. (197) Josh Fields 3B,OF
18. (212) Stephen Drew SS
19. (221) Kerry Wood RP
20. (236) George Sherrill RP
21. (245) J.R. Towles C
22. (260) Ty Wigginton 1B,2B,3B
23. (269) Shaun Marcum SP,RP
And my starting lineup will look like this:
C J.R. Towles
1B Lance Berkman
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Garrett Atkins
SS Stephen Drew
OF Matt Holliday
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Corey Hart
Util Vernon Wells
BN Jeff Francoeur
BN Josh Fields
BN Josh Hamilton
BN Ty Wigginton
SP Cole Hamels
SP Ben Sheets
SP Francisco Liriano
RP Rafael Soriano
RP Joakim Soria
P Jered Weaver
P Kerry Wood
P George Sherrill
BN Oliver Perez
BN Shawn Marcum

i agree the key to your team being successful is the health of your pitching staff. You have a lot of talent in the OF and i would consider packaging Drew and Francouer for a better SS. Nice to have 4 closers on your team you can always deal one for some help in SP if one of your guys go down. I have faith in Liriano but i'm concerned about Ben Sheets.

I also agree that this is dependent upon the health of your pitching. I also think you are carrying much more OF depth that you really need. I'd see who I could trade for more pitching or an upgrade at SS. SS is really the only weak part of your lineup.
