Right now, it appears Duchscherer is in the 3rd spot in Oakland's rotation ... any thoughts on his effectiveness and value as a Starter?

I've been wondering the same thing as he's sitting on the waiver wire in a lot of leagues. I've been trying to remember some similar situations where a pretty effective and young MR has gone into the rotation. The only other player that comes to mind immediately is Wainwright, but I think the intention was always to have him start eventually. Any Oakland fans out there willing to give a prediction?

He's been extremely efficient in the relief setting, and I have to believe it'll translate a bit to a starter role as long as he's not going more than six innings. He'll rack up some K's and likely won't give up a ton of baserunners either. If we get another Adam Wainwright, I'd be ecstatic.

I am just not sure he's even worth a roster spot in the deepest of leagues...How much value can A's starter have? Can they put up some runs to help him out? Also, does he have a good shot at over 200 innings?

I grabbed him in the middle-late rounds of my draft today. Definately not ace material but you could do worse to fill out your rotation and there's some upside. He was nasty (when healthy) in relief.

5ip, 6h, 2ER, 4K. i would say it's an encouraging performance. plus i'd say these games vs japanese teams are taken a bit more seriously than spring training games.
