I've seen Manny continually dropping from everyone's radar screen in mock drafts this season. I'd hate to think that everyone has lost confidence in him because of one terrible season. Are there real injury concerns or was last year truly an anamoly?

he was pedestrian against RHP last year. which is very scary. IMO that's the first thing to go when a guy starts falling off. the only reason his numbers were salvageable was because he mashed lefties.

the same thing happened to konerko last year. but to a lesser extent. in fact i think konerko is a great value pick this year.

There's a legitimate question of whether he's in physical decline regardless of injuries, as he's now 36.

That being said, it's also a contract year and I don't see any reason Manny can't do .300/35/120 again, esp. in that lineup.
