I think a likely scenerio would be to move Jeter to 2b and put the Gold Glover A-rod at SS

I would agree with this strategy. It seems like the Yanks have more guys available to be a quality 3B tha a quality 2B. If Aaron Boone comes back in mid-late season, its easy to stick him back at 3B with Jeter having had experience at 2B rather than reshuffling at a later date. If a team is going to monkey around with its IF like that, its better to get it over with in April, May, June than August, September, October. Unless you are the '68 Tigers.

Also, Giambi's pretty immobile at 1B, so having Jeter at 2B would help alleviate some of the weak defense on that side of the field moreso than putting Wilson, Almonte, or Cairo at 2B.

Having said all of this, George hasn't made any moves for a few days, so he's probably working on a deal for 2B right now as we speak. ;-)

Forget about A-Rod playing 2b - the Yanks don't need him in the field - they should put A-Rod in as DH - what's the difference? If they score 15 runs a game they don't need to play any defence - right?

Brian Roberts will be the Yankees starting 2B.

WHAT? A gold glove SS DHing? IN his prime? I hope your kidding.

Jeter would definitely be better at second--his range would be great for Giambi.
I'm back. Sorta.

Enrique and Tyler Houston are actually better suited for second. And Boone played a good amount of 2B last year with Cincinatti. That being said, I agee with A-Rod at short and Jeter at second. Also, if Bernie Williams goes down again, don't be surprised to see the immobile Giambi go back to DH, with a trade for a Travis Lee very plausible.

As much as I hate emoticons, there should be a tongue in cheek one.

Trans, read the "how long until Jeter plays third" thread. Yankee fans say that it does not matter where Arod plays and that they can afford to waste his defence because, with their awesome offence, defence will not matter.
