Yahoo H2H Scoring

Postby ValleyJoe » Fri Feb 20, 2004 6:02 am

In the Yahoo League Settings it shows what stats are being used. Does each stat count the same amount or do some categories count more? Is the Commissioner able to adjust it for their league?

For example the pitching stats being used are: Wins, Saves, Stikeouts, ERA and WHIP. Do you get one point for each win, each save and each strikeout or would there be more points for a win or save than for a stikeout? How would the scoring be for ERA and WHIP in this example?

Or does Yahoo just do whatever they do with those stats and we don't know the details. :-?

in h2h scoring you go up against another managers. There are 2 types of leagues.

In the first h2h type league you go up against another mananger and if you have more Ks,Wins or saves you get one "win" for each category for that week. If your era or whip is lower for the week then the other manager then you get a point for each of those categories. If you don't win a category then you get a "loss" so in a typical week you could see a record like this: 6-4 (5 hitting categories and 5 pitching).

In the first type league you'd get your 6 wins and 4 losses and the teams with the best overall record goes to the playoffs.

In another type league the person who wins 6-4 would just get one win and the person who lost gets one loss.

I prefer the first type of league.
