Was watching a show on the Civil War, and the untold stories of the flow of women. I didn't know the word hooker originated there? There was a Union general named John Hooker. He had his troops frequent the blocks of houses of ill repute. The press picked up on it, and called it Hookerville. Hence, hookers. :-D

and check this .... when the union army kicked all the "Hookers" out of Tennesee, they put them on paddle boat and no one would take them, so they eventually all came back.

Anybody want to guess what the name of the boat was?
