Was watching a show on the Civil War, and the untold stories of the flow of women. I didn't know the word hooker originated there? There was a Union general named John Hooker. He had his troops frequent the blocks of houses of ill repute. The press picked up on it, and called it Hookerville. Hence, hookers.
