Global Warming? Japanese baseball will fix it

Japanese baseball joins
fight against global warming
TOKYO — Japanese professional baseball players have vowed to shorten playing time per game as part of the national pastime's contribution to the fight against global warming. They will aim to cut playing time by six percent, or 12 minutes, from the average of three hours and 18 minutes per game (Snip) Japan, despite being the home of the landmark treaty, is far behind in meeting its Kyoto obligations as it insists only on voluntary measures so as not to put at risk a steady economic recovery.

Someone get Dusty Baker on the phone. I'd like to know what he has to say about Japanese baseball players, off-speed pitches, and global warming.

Sweet. I am going to hold my breath for the duration of every Japanese baseball game I watch to help cut down on CO2 omissions. }:-)

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

*snicker*

The key point here being I don't watch Japanese baseball... unless it's a Benny Agbayani highlight reel.
