Auction strategy advice please.

Teixeira $3
Aurillia $3
Pujols $41
Halladay $25
Gagne $29

$260 salary cap (I have $159 remaining with these keepers), 5x5 roto scoring, 23 man rosters, 16 teams mixed league.

Would you feel comfortable setting some sort of limit (sort of a LIMA type strategy) on pitching spending, since I already have 1 stud starter and 1 stud reliever? I was thinking giving myself a 'cap' of no more than $5 for any pitcher ($5 x 7 more pitchers needed = $35) and spending the remaining $124 on hitting. That would give me an overall ratio of roughly $89 spent on pitching and $171 on hitting.

Anyone think this is a good strategy or would you recommend something different?

Good idea to go in with, but don't let it cloud your judgement. If you see Kerry Wood at $20 and the bidding's dying out, don't be afraid to take the bargains when they come. Just go in looking for deals. With Halladay, Gagne, and Pujols, you're already spending a lot of your budget. Now concentrate on getting the steals in the auction.
