I generally prefer best value available. So that said, which two of the following would you take in an OPS based league:
Justin Masterson Brett Anderson Deolis Guerra Cole Rohrbough Michael Main Hank Conger Beau Mills Chris Davis Desmond Jennings Carlos Triunfel Austin Jackson Taylor Teagarden
I'm currently leaning toward taking a bat (Mills, Conger, Davis or Teagarden) and an arm (Guerra, Anderson, Masterson) but want high ceiling guys. Thanks in advance guys.

I have Vitters and Marrero on my minor league roster and Prince firmly embedded at 1B. That said, even though I like to go with best talent available when possible, I was thinking of taking Masterson and possibly Conger because I feel I should grab at least one SP and then Conger over Mills because of my needs and because I think they are pretty similar value-wise. Am I nuts? Do you rank Mills that far above Conger? Also, I noticed Teagarden is still available as well. How does he compare with Conger as far as upside? Thanks alot BCR.

Even in an OPS based league? I thought they were more the speedster types?
Jackson and Jennings easily have the most fantasy value of the guys you listed, and the fact that this is an OPS league shouldn't keep you from taking them. Even though they're speedsters, both could develop more power, especially Jackson.

Conger has a lot more offensive potential than Teagarden. He's 4 years younger and is already the better hitter of the two. Teagarden plays much better defense though.
I do like Beau Mills more than most. For some reason, I think he's going to be a very good MLB hitter.
I actually like Teagarden slightly more than Conger. The main reason is that Teagarden is closer to the big leagues (next year) and I think he will have more power. I'd take whichever cather you like though.
If you're targeting a pitcher, I'd take a chance on Michael Main. He's more risky than Masterson, but I think he has a much higher ceiling.
If I were you, I'd take one of the catchers and Mills. But if you want to go with a pitcher instead of Mills, they are close enough in value.
Any last opinions before I take the plunge? And does anyone have any thoughts on Conger's injury?
Bill Plunket, of The Orange County Register, reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Hank Conger (labrum) has a slight tear of the labrum in his right shoulder. He has begun a rehabilitation program that could last four weeks. He will likely miss the start of the minor league season and stay at the extended spring training. He could still undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Even though they play on the Rangers (i'm not a Rangers fan) but both Davis and Teagarden could be starters next season. Davis will see some at bats no doubt this year....The Rangers wanna make Teagarden the starter behind the plate. For immediate help I go with those two guys...
