I am not very happy with my team... or this league scoring.
Let me know what you think, what kind of moves I should make, and BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE SCORING... very unusual... seeems to heavily favor starting pitching
Weekly, 10 team, H2H; Very screwy scoring: (Point total beside category represents amount of points awarded for each stat... ie: 4 Wins= 40 points) Singles: 1, Doubles: 2, Triples: 3, HR:4, RBI: 1, Runs:1, SB: 2, BB, GIDP: -2, OFAST: 2 IP: 3, W: 10, K: 1, S: 5, QS: 2, L: -5, ER: -2, Blown Saves: -3 2 starters at each position, 4 OF, 1 util , 9 Pitchers... 6 Bench Players 1 DL C: B. Molina C: Salty 1B: L. Berkman 1B: C. Jackson 2B: H. Kendrick 2B: T. Wigginton SS: J. Reyes SS: J. Bartlett 3B: G. Atkins 3B: A. Gordon OF: C. Crawford OF: J. Bay OF: B. Abreu OF: M. Kemp DH: T. Hafner ----------------- Bench: K. Fukudome Bench: J. Bruce Bench: M. Jacobs ------------------ P: C. C. Sabathia P: J. Smoltz P: M. Cain P: J. Maine P: R. Harden P: P. Hughes P: C. Cordero P: J. Soria P: B. Lyon ---------------------- Bench: J. Accardo Bench: R. Johnson Bench: J. Shields
Considering dropping Lyon for Sherrill right now... Lyon is making me very nervous so far through ST. But he should get more save attempts

i dunno man, i think your team looks pretty good. depending on who's hosting your league, wigginton should be quite valuable for you. you pitching staff looks strong, and the first place i'd look to upgrade would be j.bartlett... see if there is a better SS out there on the WW. also, pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is "OFAST"?
all in all, i lke you pitching staff a bunch, with the big question mark being harden ( you also have hughes listed as a starter and on your bench...fyi), and with 20 starter at each position each week, i think you should be quite competitive. also, a very good outfield
thanks for the help on mine!
Here's to you, Mr. Robinson. Jesus loves you more than you Cano.
man idk what to say, half of those stats i don't follow and have no idea how many singles, triples, GIDP, etc. anybody has.
i would guess the scoring would work itself out so that players rated highly in a typical scoring system would be rated well here. with that said, your offense has a good balance of speed and power.
if i read right, K's and saves are 5 pts. apiece. if so, that puts a tremendous value on k's and you are in good shape as you have some flamethrowers. your staff looks good and well rounded too.
kind of hard to say about roster moves as so many players are required for the roster. i'd say pickings would be slim on waiverwire.
OFAST is outfield assist... who said defense doesn't matter? lol.
Also one of those spots is actually J. Shields... I haven't really decided on my SP yet... I figure harden will eventually be on the DL and Shields Hughes, and Maine will all be starting
I don't think you are in as bad of shape as you think. If some thing fall into place, your rotation is solid, the one thing I don't like is Cain in this league. Losses are -5 and Cain might hurt. Randy Johnson has some high upside in the league. Personally I'd try and move Cain for Blanton. Blanton will get you a ton of points from IP's (3) and will get some wins as well. Plus he has a little bit better offense behind him and plays in more of a pitchers park.
Cain also pitches in a pitchers park. i dont like Blanton at all. his value is higher with him in OAK and if he does end up being traded hes going to be worse than the average player he currently is. wins would be just as hard to come for by Blanton as Cain with Blanton on the new A's team.
i think Bartlett has some decent potential as #2 SS.
i also really like Wigginton. he could have some really good power numbers in HOU.
id rather have Sherrill over Lyon. i think Sherrill is more safe as closer in BAL than Lyon in ARZ ..but im not very high on your closers. Cordero is good, but in WAS not sure hes going to have elite closer saves. then theres Soria in KC who wont get alot of saves either. i would maybe try to get atleast 1 elite type closer, someone who more likey to get more saves than what Cordero could get.
I'm actually considering going no closer, all starters.
Then I would probably "win" the following categories: Wins +10 IP +3 K +1 QS +2 L -5 ER -2 _________ +9
The other team would defnitely "win" Saves: +5 Blown Saves: -3 _________________ +2
So every week I would win pitching categories by 7. I know this is taking advantage of the system, but it's not my fault that the commish put together such a ridiculous system.
Your team is looking good. Considering how deep your league is (2 starters at every IF position), you made out pretty well. Your OF is extremely strong. I would try to upgrade your second SS (from Bartlett), but i realize that that might not be so easy with 20 SS off the market. Your SP looks great. Your RP is so-so, but try to stockpile cheap closers now (like Sherrill) and emerging closers throughout the season and you'll be fine.
I think you are in good shape as well. With so many players it is hard to think you did well because you look at your second player and think why did i do that? I think it would be hard to beat you in a lot of those cats unless you have an injury. Just be quick to jump on back ups or target those players with multiple positions.
well for me im not good at rating teams with the whole 2 starters at each position since i really don't know what a good team would like with that. but to me it still looks decent. i wouldn't hate it, in fact after looking at it again i actually like it some what, if pronk can get lots of bombs u should be good at homers rbi's w/e. and u have lots of speed, i wouldn't be surprised if u had one of the best pitching in ur league. so with that its a pretty good team
