Streakiest players?

I have had both of them over the past couple years on variouss teams. Both had weak firs halves and super strong second halves. Try and trade for them mid year

Ichiro is incredibly streaky during the season, he is borderline worthless for months at a time and then just a god for other months.

Here is Ichiro's monthly breakdown of Hits, Runs, HR, RBI and SB last year: These numbers are approximate.

April: 20 Games Played, 5 Hitless games, 25 Hits, 12 R, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 1 SB
May: 30 Games Played, 5 Hitless games, 46 Hits, 26 R, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 13 SBs
June: 27 Games Played, 3 hitless games, 47 Hits, 18 R, 1 HR, 15 RBI, 9 SBs
July: 28 Games Played, 6 Hitless games 33 Hits, 17 R, 0 HR, 5 RBI, 7 SB
August: 27 Games Played, 4 Hitless games, 45 Hits, 22 R, 0 HR, 11 RBI, 6 SB
September: 29 Games Played, 4 Hitless games, 42 Hits, 14 R, 1 HR, 15 RBI, 1 SB

He also had 25 game hit streak followed by 2 hitless games and then an 18 game hit streak. So for about 2 months he had at least a hit.

So out of the 161 games that Ichiro played in:

17% of the time he doesn't get a hit
83% of the time he gets a hit
47% of the time he gets multi-hits in a game

Hit streaks:

1 hit streak of 25 games
2 hit streaks of 15 or more games
4 hit streaks of 10 or more games
12 hit streaks of 5 or more games
16 hit streaks of 3 or more games

How much more consistent can a player be? Do you expect him to get 4 hits every game instead of 1? The only stat I see him being streaky in is SB and that is very normal with speed guys. July was not a great month for him, by his standards but was still much better than most.

Throughout the season he only had 27 games without a hit. Only 3 streaks where he had 3 straight games without a hit. He doesn't slump often, yet by your statement it is as if he disappears for months at a time and gives you nothing. I strongly disagree with that statement.

Perhaps he is flaky with the settings you use in your league or maybe you draft him solely for SBs. I don't know but I draft in my H2H leagues based on a philosophy of drafting consistent hitters and I have never owned a hitter who has been more consistent than Ichiro.

I play H2H and I have never had Ichiro go into a massive slump where he didn't give me anything at all. He is always giving me Hits(if that is a league setting) or AVG.

I would be interested to know what exactly you are talking about. I don't know what settings you use in your standard league so perhaps I am overlooking something.

First player coming to mind is Jim Thome, can almost count on his numbers being non existant before june and then he is as hot as I have ever seen anyone for a month then cools for 2weeks and then another hot streak for for 3 weeks, could also be said to be "Warm Weather" player.Too bad his career is just about over

I don't know about last year but I had Crawford a couple years ago and I remember him being very streaky. I had Beltran that same year and I remember him being the same aswell, I had such an awesome offense that year so it didnt really matter

Aramis Ramirez two yrs ago...ice cold the 1st half of the year to one of the best players the 2nd half. I traded for him mid-year and he helped me win my league.
